Synthetic and Materials Chemistry Experience
Preparation of polymeric and small-molecule materials. Familiarity with most current techniques with particular understanding of palladium-catalysis, organometallics and polymerisation. Proficiency with milligram- to kilogram-scale chemistry. Broad understanding of materials chemistry from bulk polymer properties to complex physical interfacial effects.
Separations and Analysis
All modern chromatographic techniques both analytical and preparative (flash, GPC, size exclusion, LC, GC). All common laboratory analysis techniques (NMR, MS, absorption and emission spectrometries, electrochemistry, DSC). Polymer fractionation, purification and coating.
Communication and Collaboration
Preparation of academic manuscripts, reports and presentations. Worked in close collaboration with multiple academic and industrial entities. Well-developed interpersonal and ICT skills.
Laboratory Management and Maintenance
Technical expertise with all typical laboratory equipment. Organised and led the migration of 30-strong synthetic chemistry lab to new Imperial College London campus. Extremely proactive with respect to laboratory efficiency and organisation.
Teaching and Mentorship
Personally supervised the projects of >25 Masters and PhD-level students. Extensive experience leading undergraduate seminars, teaching laboratories and oral examinations.
